Did you ever wake up in the morning and go to the bathroom to wash your face and then discovered that the towel was missing? Did you ever go for a bath or a shower and then suddenly discovered that you forgot your towel? To me, the best part of a shower or a bath is to grab the towel and to feel its softness and fabric on my body. The towel keeps you warm by absorbing the water away from you. It is also an object that is very stylish and colorful to display in bathrooms and closets. No house would be complete without towels. That is why I love my towel.
We normally do not take our towels seriously. In its marketing, the towel is not considered an object to which people attach a great deal of emotion. When they advertise fashion or beauty products, marketers work on your feelings. They tell you that this or that cream will make you young forever. They convince you that wearing this brand versus another brand will make you the most beautiful person on earth. When it comes to your towels, they simply display them in a retail store and tell you that they will dry you and that they are good to wipe yourself with. I do not fully agree with the traditional view on towels and I have constantly loved purchasing towels.
I have constantly considered them a source of comfort and relaxation. They touch my skin and need to be soft. They need to comfortable to use and to dry me until the last drop. They should be warm in winter and my beach friend in summer. Towels are also a source of beauty. They come in many sizes and forms and in many colors and can be brilliantly decorated. They can be either plain and classic or they can be embroidered. They can also be used to brilliantly decorate your interiors. Placing them on a shelf in your bathroom or at the exterior of your bathroom will leave you with a set of colorful objects that are easy to access and to use. You can even write messages on towels. You can monogram them to show ownership or can write a word or a saying for fun. Tamarindie even uses Arabic calligraphy on towels.
There was even a time where towels became superstars in a book. It is in Douglas Adam’s Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Originally, the book was a show that was aired on BBC. It then adopted other formats. It is a comic science fiction series and its title suggests a crazy and original travel guide that is continuously featured in the series. Towels are described as a very important object and were used in the series to protect the characters from the gaze of beasts. A Towel Day is even celebrated on May 25 as a tribute to the author. On that day, fans carry a towel with them to show their love for the book and the series.

هل استيقظت يوماً وذهبت إلى الحمام لتغسل وجهك ثم اكتشفت أن المنشفة او البشكير مفقود؟ هل ذهبت يوماً للاستحمام واكتشفت فجأةً أنك نسيت المنشفة او البشكير؟ انني دوماً اتوق الى كمش المنشفة والشعور بنعومتها بعد الاستحمام. ان المنشفة تبقيك دافئٍ بامتصاصها الماء وهي جميلة بالوانها العديدة في الحمامات والخزائن. لا يوجد بيتٌ كاملٍ دون مناشف ولذلك انني احبها جداً
عادةً, لا نأخد المنشفة على محمل الجد. وفي تسويقها, لا تُعتبر المنشفة منتجاً يحرك العواطف والاحاسيس. عندما تُسوق الموضة ومستحضرات التجميل, يعمل المسوقون على دغدغت احاسيس المشتري: فاذا بالمستحضر الذي سيحافظ على شبابك الى الابد واذا بالماركة التي ستجعلك اجمل شخص على وجه الارض. ولكنني لا اتفق مع النظرة التقليدية للمنشفة فالمنشفة ايضاً تُحب وهي جميلة وناعمة الملمس واستعمالها يجعلني احب نفسي
فقد اعتبرت دائماً المنشفة مصدراً للراحة . فانها تلمس بشرتي ويجب ان تكون ناعمة. ويجب ان تكون مريحة الاستعمال وان تجففني حتى آخر قطرة ماء. ويجب ان تكون دافئة في الشتاء ورفيقة البحر في الصيف. والمنشفة مصدرٌ للجمال. وهي تأتي بجميع الاشكال والاحجام وبألوانٍ زاهيةٍ ومتعددة وتتضمن الزخرفة والتزيين. وبامكان المنشفة ان تكون بسيطة وكلاسيكية او مطرزة ومزركشة. وبامكانكم استعمال المنشفة لتزيين داخل بيتكم. فاذا وضعتم مناشفكم على رفٍ داخل الحمام او على باب حمامكم, سيكون لديكم مجموعة الوان يسهل التقاتها والوصول اليها. ويمكنكم كتابت رسائلٍ وكلماتٍ على المناشف كاحرف اسمائكم او قول او جُمل مسلية. وعند تامارندي نستعمل الخط العربي على المنشفة. فكيف لا اشعر بعواطف حيال منشفتي؟
واصبحت المنشفة بطلةً في كتابٍ اوروبي وهو كتاب دوغلاس ادمس, "ذي هاتشهيكرز غيد تو ذي غالاكسي" ("دليل المسافر الى المجرة"). وكان الكتاب اساساً برنامجاً يُعرض على قناة البي بي سي الانكليزية ثم اتخذ هذا البرنامج اشكالاً اخرى. والكتاب سلسلة خيالٍ علميٍّ تتضمن دليل سفر مضحك وهزلي يستعمله ابطال القصة في رحلاتهم. وفي هذه القصة, تُوصف المنشفة كاداة مفيدة جداً. وهي تستعمل لردع نظرات الوحوش في الفضاء الواسع. واُعلن يوم 25 مايو يوماً للمنشفة لتكريم الكاتب دوغلاس ادمس. وفي ذالك اليوم, يحمل محبي الكتاب منشفة للتعبير عن حبهم للقصة وللكاتب
